We invite you to join us in Uganda and Tanzania for this exclusive small-group departure in what is sure to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Not only will you experience the magnificence of the African continent and its wild inhabitants, but you will come to understand its significance more deeply through authentic engagement with the conservation efforts in these awe-inspiring destinations.
This dream journey begins in Uganda amidst the stunning backdrop of the lush Virunga Mountains. Bordering Rwanda, Uganda, and The Democratic Republic of the Congo, these mountains are home to one-third of Africa’s famed Mountain Gorillas.
Our first exploration takes us to Bwindi National Park and Mgahinga National Park, where we will face Mountain Gorillas in their natural environment. This exclusive trek is exponentially highlighted by our guest host, the legendary Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, one of the leading conservationists and scientists working to save the endangered mountain gorillas of East Africa. Dr. Galdys will accompany us on our tracking adventures providing unparalleled insight into the Grauer’s gorillas living in the Virunga Range national parks.
Departing Uganda, we continue to Tanzania for our first safari destination, the vast and wild Serengeti National Park, whose natural beauty and abundance of wildlife are legendary. The annual wildebeest migration is traditionally in the Northern Serengeti, which will be our home for three nights. And while the possibility of seeing wildebeests paint the plains black is high, the highlight during our time in the Serengeti will be witnessing them cross the iconic Mara River during the Great Migration.
Finally, we make our way to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a true natural wonder and one of Tanzania’s most beautiful spots. Teeming with wildlife, including the “Big 5,” every safari drive is spectacular and memorable!
A high point in Ngorongoro will be our visit to the KOPE Lion Foundation to learn about their meaningful conservation work. The foundation’s all-important mission is to promote sustainable human-lion coexistence in the conservation area.
