There is nothing about this trip that not to love! It is the exotic adventure of a lifetime packed with fun and adventure. You’ll leave knowing why it’s indeed Incredible Indonesia.
The journey begins in bustling Yogyakarta on the Indonesian island of Java. “Yogya” is an appealing, eclectic mix of historical sites, colonial buildings, beaches, markets, cultural activities, and opportunities aplenty to engage with the locals as they go about daily life.
Not far from Yogyakarta is Borobudur, one of the largest Buddhist monuments in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Borobudur is breathtaking at any time, but never more so than at sunrise and sunset. Constructed in the 8th-century, it rivals Bagan in Myanmar and Angkor Wat in Cambodia as one of Asia’s great archeological sites.
Leaving the city’s buzz behind, we make our way to Sorong, located on the western tip of New Guinea on the island’s Indonesia side, shared with Papua New Guinea. Sorong is the gateway to one of nature’s most stunning backdrops, the Raja Ampat Islands. Raja Ampat, where we will spend seven nights aboard the luxurious, 10-guest yacht Rascal, is an archipelago comprising hundreds of jungle-covered islands, laced with white-sand beaches and coral reefs rich with marine life, perfect for snorkeling, diving, and swimming.
After disembarking the Rascal and leaving Raja Ampat, our journey is far from over. It’s time to make our way to the tropical paradise of Bali! Once a bohemian hideaway, Bali, now known the world over, still evokes a lush island allure. Enjoy five nights at the Viceroy Bali luxury resort, where our adventure includes off-roading in vintage VWs, biking through villages and rice paddies, visiting the island’s famed Hindu temples, partaking in a traditional Balinese cooking lesson, and so much more!
